Baby & Me Groups

Come and meet parents with similar aged children. There's lots of smiles and laughter with our parent-baby groups, enjoy songs, playtime, and discussion.
Currently located in Grass Valley on weekday mornings for ages 0 to 12 months
Baby & Me classes are free to first-time participants.

Parenting Classes
The Nevada County Superintendent of Schools office offers parenting classes through their Family Resource Centers, including Triple P, Second Step, and Loving Solutions. For more information about the classes and schedules, please visit www.nevco.k12.ca.us and click on the "Parents & Families" tab.
Story Times at Local Libraries
Story times are a great experience for young children--a first taste of being in a group, a way to develop their love for books that will be so important when they start to learn to read, and a fun, easy outing for children and parents.
The Grass Valley Library offers Toddler Time for 1- to 4-year-olds on Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11, Mother Goose Time for 0- to 3-year-olds on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11, and Spanish-English Story Time on the 2nd and 4th Saturday from 11 to 11:30.
Madelyn Helling Library offers Preschool Story Time at 10:30 on Tuesdays and an all-ages Singalong at 4:00 on Thursdays.
Penn Valley and Bear River libraries both offer a Preschool Story Time, 10:15 on Tuesdays at Penn Valley and Wednesdays at 4:00 at Bear River.
Truckee has a variety of story times that will resume with the new school year: Storytelling with Mrs. Fix for 3- to 6-year-olds will start on August 21st and continue every Thursday at 11:15.

The Power of Positive Parenting Class
For Parents of Children Ages 2-12
Many familiar parenting problems have very simple solutions that can be applied with some effort and focus. Triple P is one of the few parenting programs in the world that is based on evidence from clinical research. Now, thanks to the Safe Schools Healthy Students Initiative, Triple P has come to Nevada County. Join other families for a light dinner and class with presenters Meg Luce and Connie Moller. Childcare is provided.
Starting Date: Thursday, January 27 – March 17 (8 weeks)
Time: 5:30 to 8:00 PM
Where: Ready Springs Elementary School, 10862 Spenceville Rd., Penn Valley
Materials Fee: $25 for the course book (scholarships are available)

Toddler & Me Groups
Smiles, laughter, songs and playtime!
Children 12 to 36 months and their Mommy's, Daddy's, Nanny's or Grandparents play in a preschool classroom just perfect for toddlers, a first step to group experience. Enjoy circle time, crafts, and lots of exploring of toys. Located at Sierra Nevada Children's Services, 256 Buena Vista St., Suite 110, Grass Valley, CA 95945
