Lindsay Dunckel,
Executive Director, First 5 Nevada County

Lindsay has served as Executive Director since August of 2007 and is deeply involved in many aspects of the Nevada County community. She is a graduate of Columbia University (B.A.) and the City University of New York (Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology). She previously served as the Program Coordinator for Parent Support and Education for First 5 Nevada County, where she developed the Welcome Baby program and other parenting programs in response to community need. She has worked as a childcare worker in a foster care agency, as a preschool teacher, as a parent educator, as a parent support group leader, and as a researcher in issues around infancy, parenting, and developmental disabilities. Lindsay lives in Grass Valley with her husband and has two grown children.

Sandi Hedenland,
Administrative Assistant

Sandi joined First 5 Nevada County in August of 2010.  She previously worked at Nevada Union High School and at Gold Run Elementary School in Nevada City.  She has been a Title I instructor, teacher’s aid and secretary.  Sandi lives with her husband, two sons and two daughters in Nevada City.
